Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher (born 3 January 1969) is the former German racing driver. He was born in Hürth, North Rhine-Westphalia. His parents are Rolf Schumacher, a bricklayer and Elisabeth Schumacher. He has one brother, Ralph Schumacher. At the age 4, his father modified pedal kart, by adding a motorcycle engine. A few days after, Michael crashed it into a lamp post in Kerpen. After the accident, his parent took him to the karting track at Kerpen-Horrem. At the age 6, Schumacher won his first title, with a hand build kart, made by his father!

From 1984-1987 he won several German and European kart championships. By 1987 he was German and European kart champion! In 1989 he signed with Willi Weber's WTS Formula Three team. His Formula 1 career started in 1991, with the Jordan-Ford team. After just one race, he transferred into Benetton. He drove in this team from 1991-1995. From the 1996-2006 he was driving for Ferrari, these are his most successful years! After his retirement, he returned to the Formula 1, 2010-2012, driving for Mercedes.

Michael Schumacher is one of the most successful athletes in the world! During his career, he participated in 307 races, won 91, had 155 podiums and collect 1566 career points! He had 77 fastest laps and 68 pole position! The most impressive achievements are his titles, 7 of them! He still holds the record number of champion titles.
In 2013 he had a severe accident while skiing. After many months in a hospital, he was sent home, where he is still recovering. According to the latest information, he is paralyzed, in a wheelchair and having speaking and memory problems!
